Studio Kimi Interior · Oakville · Oakville · GTA
A boutique studio for Oakville homeowners renovating the whole home — from Port Credit to Lorne Park — where every room is designed to belong to one another.
Led by Kookdo Kim (Principal Designer & Co-Founder) and Junghee Kim (Co-Principal & Interior Designer). Studio Kimi holds BCIN, NCIDQ, BID, and over fifteen years of interior design and renovation work across the GTA.

Mona — Port Credit, Mississauga. A custom new build — chef’s kitchen, fireplace lounge, and whole-home design, start to finish.
Why Studio Kimi
Oakville is not one neighbourhood.
It’s 1960s semi-detached on Lakeshore. Mid-century Mineola. Contemporary builds in Port Credit. Whole-home renovations in Lorne Park and Sheridan Park. Each comes with different bones, codes, and limits.
The best results come from designing the whole home at once — so the kitchen, the living spaces, and the primary suite speak the same language. We’ve done that work across Oakville, concept to completion, one point of contact.

Oakville, specifically
Challenges we solve.
- Semi-detached, load-bearing walls.Opening up the main floor often needs structural engineering and Town of Oakville permit drawings. We handle both.
- 1960s and ’70s ranches.Lower ceilings, smaller windows. We redesign for light and flow without raising the roof.
- Port Credit and Lorne Park homes.High ceilings, good bones. The design problem is restraint, not scope.
- Heritage and infill lots.Working within Town of Oakville heritage and zoning guidelines.
Investment
Honest about investment.
Every project is scoped individually — whether a high-end, whole-home renovation or a single, well-considered room. Our design fee is tailored to the size and scope of your home — typically 7–10% of the total investment.
We give you a detailed, honest cost range for your project after our Discovery meeting — no guesswork, no pressure.
Frequently asked
Questions we hear often.
How long does a home renovation in Oakville take?
Design phase 8–12 weeks for a whole home. Construction 4–9 months depending on scope. Town of Oakville permitting typically adds 6–10 weeks.
Do I need a permit to renovate in Oakville?
Cosmetic work doesn’t. Structural changes, plumbing and electrical relocation, and additions do. We handle the permit drawings and submit on your behalf.
Do you only design kitchens?
No. We design whole homes — kitchens, living spaces, primary suites, bathrooms, and additions. The kitchen is often the anchor, but the work is the whole home.
Can you work with my contractor, or do you bring your own?
As we are also a design-build studio, we bring our own trades. We’re also happy to work with your contractor of choice.
Do you offer virtual consultations for Oakville clients?
Yes, for initial conversations. The site measurement and design refinement work happens in person.
