Studio Kimi took on a full interior design and build renovation in Erin Mills — kitchen, bathrooms, main floor, and second floor. Every trade in sync, every finish on point, an investment range of $150,000 to $250,000.

The biggest move was structural. Removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room didn’t just make the space bigger — it changed how the whole home feels. Open concept design done right isn’t about square footage. It’s about light. With the wall gone, natural daylight moves freely through the main floor, and that changes everything. A brighter home feels warmer. You want to be in it. You want to stay.

The open layout made room for a large custom island that fits the way this family actually lives — and the kitchen design follows a modern farmhouse direction. Crisp white cabinetry paired with natural oak accents. Quartz countertops flowing into a continuous backsplash, one clean surface. Shiplap panels on the wall adding warmth and texture without overcomplicating the space.
