This house has been around for over a hundred years. It’s in the Annex — one of Toronto’s oldest neighbourhoods. When the clients came to us, the challenge was clear: make it feel new, but don’t lose what made it special in the first place.
We worked on the kitchen, the main-floor living space, and the master ensuite. The house already had beautiful dark hardwood floors running through the entry and living areas, so we kept them. In the kitchen, we went with large-format light tile that feels clean and fresh without looking like a different house.
The kitchen was a big part of this — sage-green lowers, a full marble slab backsplash, open and bright. The master ensuite got dramatic veined stone, black metal mirrors, and open shelving. It looks like a hotel bathroom, in the best way.
A century-old home and a modern lifestyle. Both, at the same time. That’s what this project showed.
