Orleans whole-home renovation — Mississauga — Studio Kimi

Orleans — Mississauga. A whole-home renovation in Erin Mills, reconsidered room by room.

Why Studio Kimi

Mississauga rewards a whole-home view.

From the heritage streets of Port Credit to the ravine lots of Sawmill Valley, the mid-century homes of Applewood, and the estate streets of Lorne Park and Mineola — Mississauga’s housing is as varied as its neighbourhoods. Each comes with different bones, budgets, and ambitions.

What they share: the best results come from designing the whole home at once, so the kitchen, the living spaces, and the primary suite speak the same language. We’ve done that work across Mississauga — concept to completion, one studio, one point of contact.

Mississauga, specifically

Challenges we solve.

  • Heritage Port Credit.Modernizing how a home lives while respecting the City’s heritage and conservation-district guidelines.
  • Ravine and Sawmill Valley lots.Grading, walkouts, and window placement that make the most of the view and the light.
  • Mid-century Applewood homes.Good bones, dated layouts. We open them up without erasing their character.
  • Lakefront and estate homes.Scope and restraint in equal measure — rooms that feel calm, not showy.

Frequently asked

Questions we hear often.

How long does a home renovation in Mississauga take?

Design phase 8–12 weeks for a whole home. Construction 4–9 months depending on scope. City of Mississauga permitting typically adds 6–10 weeks.

Do I need a permit to renovate in Mississauga?

Cosmetic work doesn’t. Structural changes, plumbing and electrical relocation, and additions do — and heritage or conservation districts require extra approvals. We handle the drawings and submit on your behalf.

Do you only design kitchens?

No. We design whole homes — kitchens, living spaces, primary suites, bathrooms, and additions. The kitchen is often the anchor, but the work is the whole home.

Can you work with my contractor, or do you bring your own?

As we are also a design-build studio, we bring our own trades. We’re also happy to work with your contractor of choice.

Do you offer virtual consultations for Mississauga clients?

Yes, for initial conversations. The site measurement and design refinement work happens in person.
