Studio Kimi reworked the entire lower level of this Lorne Park bungalow in Mississauga — roughly 3,000 square feet of raw basement turned into a proper second living floor. The plan added a home bar and lounge, a library, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a full laundry, each space finished to feel as considered as the floor above.
The home bar anchors the level. Dark cabinetry, stone counters and a patterned feature wall with lit glass shelving give it a real after-hours mood, while blue leather stools and a games area pull family and guests downstairs. A bright library of white built-ins sits just beyond, keeping the lounge grown-up rather than a basic rec room.
The bathrooms answer the bar with light — white vanities, marble, gold fixtures and a jetted soaker tub — while the powder room goes darker and more dramatic. Custom millwork runs throughout, built so a below-grade level reads as bright and intentional, never an afterthought. An investment range of $150,000 to $200,000 covered the full basement renovation.
